About

A design for every eye!

Real talk: 2020 was… Well it was certainly memorable, wasn’t it? And now 2021 is looking to be even more special.

And with digital communication having become the norm—really the standardas a way of socializing with one another, or even doing business with each other, I just want to say that I’m here to help you tell the world that you’re still here!

So even as the Earth starts to turn again, slowly (slowly) finding her equilibrium, let’s just be honest with ourselves—things will never be the same.

That’s okay though! I’d like to think that this downtime has allowed us all a chance to figure out what’s really important in our lives. And despite the insanity, one thing has become clear:

People are important.

Connecting with people is important.

Originally in the business of making business simple, I started H + H Initiative to be a source of ease for small businesses that just need a website.

But with so many design firms and freelancers—all quoting their varying prices and options—not to mention the DIY platforms, it can be overwhelming, if not confusing, knowing how and where to start, especially if you’re needing a more customized job.

That’s where my little Initiative comes in.

Maybe you’re a business in need of some help to revamp your current website to show that you’ve adapted to this new world.

Maybe you’re a business just starting out and need someone to take the pressure off of all the startup craziness.

Or maybe this is personal and you’re just looking to connect with people and share what you’ve been up to.

Whatever your needs, I’m here to help!

What I can do for you!

First things first, I’m a fan of and work primarily using WordPress. The tools, support and customization offered on the platform just make sense to me. It’s my playground and the one I’m most comfortable in.

Now that that’s covered, if you’re still interested in my web design services, here are some things to consider before you make an appointment. Do you already have a website that needs some TLC? Or are you starting from scratch?

What about a domain name: if you have one is yours hosted or would you require help getting that setup?

These are just the basic questions that we’ll need to cover before we can get started with getting your website up and running.

Below, you’ll see three different options for displaying your content.

It’s been my experience that websites today operate on this basic distinction. What you actually want to do as far as customization to fit your website to your needs, it all starts here.

And because I’m of the mindset of keeping things simple, think of this as an “everything comes standard” experience. You pick how you want your information presented and I’ll make it fit.

I want to help you save a little money.
Savings? Yes, please!

Guess what?

You’re viewing one right now.

How can you tell?

Because all (well, most) of the content is on this page and navigation jumps you to the linked section.

For businesses, this is ideal when you have either a single or a few services and/or products to offer.

What you’d expect if you know what a one-page site is.

All of your content on separate, organized pages.

This option is better suited for going into detail about you. More room for explaining what you have to offer.

For example, more descriptive information about any products or services you’re selling.

That’s it.

Easy, right?

A basic and effective website, but for a very specific intent. Similar to a one-page layout, a landing page is what you’ll want for the temporary marketing of an event.

They can also be great for advertising a product for an nth amount of time, like in the instance of creating interest with a freebie or inexpensive item to build your potential customer base.

A simple go-to for capturing lead information and building lists.

  • Business
The kind of website that is best used to represent your business and showcase what you’re all about.
  • eCommerce
This option often times is an extension of a business website. Used for selling products and/or services with the typical cart function that allows customers to pay through your site.
  • Membership
Also referred to as a portal, this kind of website is best for businesses to offer subscription only services to their customers through a secure site that you have to be registered to access.
  • Nonprofit
Much like a business website in that there is opportunity to educate on involvement and support of your cause, as well as an option to accept donations.
  • Personal
A way to advertise yourself as a brand. For me, I consider Blogs, Portfolios, etc. to fall under this category.

FAQ

So you already have your domain and hosting taken care of prior to hiring me. Everything is setup and your website is viewable. Just not quite what you’d expected.

Then this option is best suited for anyone looking to remodel and renovate.

Or if you started a DIY project that you’re not sure how to finish.

Either way, we’ll discuss what you want and I’ll step in to complete the job.

This is the suggested option for anyone starting from scratch.

– No domain.

– No hosting.

– Nothing.

Or maybe you have a domain because you wanted to secure your branding, but you’re not really hosting it anywhere.

Whatever the case, you need help – PROFESSIONAL help.

That’s fine.

I’ll have suggestions for where all of that can be done and should you choose to go ahead and hire me, I can assist you with all of that.

Bonus! I’m a believer in transparency so everything I do, you will have complete access to.

Your business. Your website.

$30

On the first of every month I’ll drop by your website to check in and see how things are running. If there is anything that needs attention, I’ll make sure that everything is up-to-date.

To be completely honest—and not that I want to talk myself out of a paying job—but it’s really easy to do. I mean, anyone could handle it.

But if you don’t have the time or are uncertain about messing around and possibly breaking something, then I do offer this done-for-you service to all my clients.

In addition, at any point during the month if you experience trouble with your website, I will be the person you call to make things right. Even if that means I’m the one reaching out to your service providers to coordinate with them to fix the problem.

This is my way of making your life a little easier by providing a service with the understanding that you’ve got a business to run and, well, this is my business.

Short answer: 4-12 weeks.

Why?

I’ve seen a situation where someone hired an expensive web design firm that guaranteed a complete build in 14 days. What did they actually get?

A broken promise, poor customer service, and website that still needed tweaking after several weeks of under delivery.

I’ve seen another where a reasonably priced professional on the well known freelance marketplace is hired and delivered the website on time, but it’s nothing like what the client asked for.

Blurry images, content copied and pasted, and no basic functionality. Like no navigation.

Website horror stories!

So here’s what I can tell you about me personally.

I’m dedicated and a perfectionist. When given a task, I will do my best to provide what is requested, however, this is as much a creative process as it is technical.

That said, it’s also dependent upon what you need your website to do. So I ask for anywhere from 4-12 weeks.

A broad window, but seriously…bugs and optimization. No joke, these things can derail a well-timed project like nothing you’ve ever seen.
